Jack Bigio has always possessed a profound curiosity about how things are made and what makes things work, as well as a great love of jewelry, gems, and precious metals. His interests include design, technology and architecture, though his training and early careers include engineering and finance.
Jack's first pieces were custom-made rings, necklaces and bracelets that he fashioned from gems and precious metals for his wife and daughters, and soon extended to other family members and friends. Inspired by the rich colors and textures of his native Colombia and by his European and Middle Eastern heritage, Jack transformed his passion and created BIGIO jewelry. He was soon joined in the NOHO NY design studio by his wife Barbara, who is an invaluable business partner and muse.
Jack's love of constant re-invention ensures that the collection stays fresh, while his respect for quality and craftsmanship ensures the enduring quality of each piece. Jack also welcomes the opportunity to design and produce custom pieces upon request. He will also gladly transform client's underutilized gems and jewelry into chic new designs.
